This #FIBRFriday, we're diving into the newly released Q3 FIBR data. Maria Benjamin, Trust & Safety Analyst at Sift, highlights the key trends shaping fraud this quarter: 🔹 Payment fraud stayed relatively stable at 3.1%, but crypto fraud surged 110% YoY, making it the riskiest payment method. 🔹 Chargebacks tell a nuanced story: overall disputes rose 24%, while fraudulent chargebacks fell 25%. 🔹 Account takeovers dropped 55% YoY, supported by a 10% increase in 2FA adoption. FIBR helps trust and safety teams see where fraudsters are innovating and where defenses are working.
