💊 New Executive Order Aims to Lower Prescription Drug Costs On May 12, 2025, President Trump signed an order to bring the prices Americans and taxpayers pay for prescription drugs in line with those paid by similar nations. According to the White House, Americans pay 3x more for brand-name meds than other developed countries. The order calls for: ✅ Stopping foreign pricing practices that unfairly raise U.S. drug costs. ✅ Allowing Americans to buy drugs at the lowest global price (“Most-Favored-Nation” pricing). ✅ Enforcing new rules and actions if manufacturers don’t lower prices. Don’t expect immediate change—legal challenges and regulatory hurdles are likely. We’re keeping a close eye on what this could mean for employer-sponsored health plans and pharmacy spend.
