Joy was definitely in the building for last night’s Gold Ball at the Newark Museum of Art! Newark’s vibrant arts and culture community was out in full force to kick off Day 1 of the Newark Arts Festival in style. We had a ball celebrating with friends and supporters from Newark Arts, Newark Alliance, Arts Ed Newark and more! And did we mention the incredible music and performances by The Violin Diva and the mesmerizing acrobats cascading from golden drapes? We’re here at NJMEP’s “Made in New Jersey” Manufacturing Day event. We met Newark-based manufacturers, ZAGO, at last year’s “Made in NJ” event and happen to be neighbors on the floor today. #MadeinNewark pride! Hi Everyone! My name is Phoenyx and I'm the first recipient of the GlassRoots Teaching Artist Train-up Initiative. Nice to meet you! The Train-up Initiative provided me with valuable exposure to diverse forms of glass art while allowing me to apply and expand my existing teaching skills with a broader and more varied audience. I had the opportunity to . . . Design and implement my own arts-based curriculum, advancing my practice through hands-on experience. Collaborating with fellow teaching artists also fostered a supportive community where we could exchange insights and grow together within the medium. Overall, the initiative equipped me with the essential tools to grow as a teaching artist and further develop my practice as a professional in the field. #sparkingchange #newark #madeinnewark #glassroots

Oh, What a Night! Thank you to everyone who made GlassBall 2025 such a rousing success! From the glow of the Mobile Hot Shop to the exuberant live auction, the evening was buzzing with spirited chatter, lively connections and inspired presentations. Special thanks to our host, the Montclair Art Museum, our generous sponsors, the GlassRoots Board of Trustees and, of course, the GlassRoots studio artists and our impressive Youth Entrepreneurial Spirit (YES) teens! Congratulations as well to our GlassBall 2025 Honorees John Schreiber, Robinson Holloway, Roger C. Tucker III and Andy Toxtle who shared moving testaments reinforcing GlassRoots' impact and continued need for support as we look forward to the next 25 years!
