Building more resilient communities - by design The Peru Reconstruction programme goes beyond building infrastructure; it’s about delivering social value, sustainability and resilience for communities across Peru. The UK Delivery Team, a partnership between Gleeds, Mace and Arup plays a crucial role in realising this vision by providing ongoing technical assistance to the Peruvian Government. A key component is the adoption of life cycle design to ensure that every facility delivers long-term value for the community it serves. The impact is clear across all types of infrastructure: ◾ In schools, we are creating modern, climate-resilient environments that enhance teaching and learning outcomes ◾ Developing more efficient hospital facilities that improve healthcare quality and patient care ◾ And flood defences that provide long-term protection for 16 million people, strengthening climate resilience in vulnerable regions. Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week! 🧠   Mental health is gaining well-deserved attention each year, and for good reason. It's just as crucial as our physical health. At Gleeds, we prioritise empowering our people to put their mental health first.   Our recent Great Place To Work UK survey results tell us that our people believe that Gleeds is a psychologically and emotionally healthy environment and feel that work-life balance is actively encouraged here.   To support this, every two years, we host the Gleeds Global Challenge. Last year’s Global Challenge brought together everyone across our business to get moving to remove plastic from the ocean. Collectively, our people covered a distance of 86,974km, removing 835kg from our oceans – the equivalent of 42,000 water bottles.   Through the Gleeds Foundation, we pledge £100,000 annually to charities that support young people in making positive changes in their lives. For the past two years, we've proudly partnered with the Wilderness Foundation UK and Resurgo, two incredible organisations dedicated to the wellbeing of young people.   These are just a few ways we promote positive mental health.
