A powerful moment for U.S. quantum leadership took place today. During his testimony before the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology, Dr. Pete Shadbolt of PsiQuantum, our strategic partner, showcased a photonic wafer as an example of how public-private partnerships are accelerating real progress. “Our emphasis has been to urgently escalate to a high level of technical maturity… to be able to build the photonic components you reference in a big fab, in the millions,” Dr. Shadbolt explained. We’re honored to help enable quantum computing, with manufacturing that supports its innovation ecosystem across the U.S. and globally. #QuantumComputing #Semiconductors #PhotonicChips #Manufacturing
PsiQuantum was proud to participate in today’s House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology hearing. We extend our sincere thanks to Chairman Brian Babin and Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren for the invitation and for their leadership on this critical issue. As our co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer Pete Shadbolt shared, PsiQuantum is proud to be a US headquartered company. We’ve raised nearly $1 billion dollars in private capital, have invested hundreds of millions of dollars into American semiconductor manufacturing, and work with over 500 commercial partners across 39 states. We believe the United States must move with a sense of urgency to secure and bolster its leadership position in quantum computing. This technology holds immense promise—not in the distant future, but in the years immediately ahead—for breakthroughs in medicine, energy, defense, and beyond. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our perspective with the Committee and look forward to working with Congress and continuing our work with Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Air Force Research Laboratory, and the US National Labs as well as the broader ecosystem to make utility-scale quantum computing an American reality.
