The headlines all screamed “biggest Prime Day ever,” but they missed the real story. While Amazon doesn’t release its own marketplace sales figures, our data at Goflow lifts the veil. The results show a massive performance gap between the average seller and those who understood the new rules of the game. Our analysis of hundreds of sellers revealed: 📈 21% GMV Growth: Goflow sellers achieved a 21% year-over-year growth during the 4-day event. 📉 vs. 4.9% Market Growth: This quadrupled the estimated 4.9% growth for the broader Amazon marketplace. The Marathon Mindset: Our sellers won by treating the 4-day event as a strategic marathon, not a 48-hour sprint. They sustained their ad spend, managed inventory for the long haul, and focused on value, not just deep discounts. Increased AOV: While the market saw average order sizes dip, our sellers’ Average Order Value increased by 2.5%—proving that a value-driven strategy works. The era of the promotional blitz is over.
