About us

There are a billion good intentions tucked inside each and every one of us. At GoFundMe, we believe that the impulse to help a person, fix a neighborhood, or change a nation should never be ignored. In fact, it should be shared with the entire world. That’s why we make it easy to inspire the world and turn your compassion into action. By giving people the tools they need to capture and share their story far and wide, we have built a community of more than 200 million donors and helped organizers raise over $15 billion for the causes important to them—and we are just getting started. Check out current job openings, join our team, and be a part of the change below. ## GoFundMe has assembled one of the best management teams in the business to build the next leading consumer Internet company, including leaders from LinkedIn, Groupon, and Google. We are also funded by some of Silicon Valley’s best venture capital firms, including Accel, Greylock, and TCV.

  • Swamp Cafe, a family-run Cajun restaurant in Dallas, was fighting to stay open after years of rising costs and pandemic-related challenges. Lately, they averaged just barely three transactions per day. Then TikTok creator Sam Olvera walked in the door, and released a video of his interview with the chef. Eight million views later, Swamp Cafe has felt an outpouring of love and support. In the week since the encounter, Chef David's sold out of every item on the menu each evening, and people are traveling from across the state to pay a visit. Now, Chef David’s daughter, Ava, launched a GoFundMe to help cover overdue rent and keep the doors open, tapping into the growing community's support. The moment is a powerful example of how creators and communities can rally together — turning a single TikTok into real-world impact, and giving a small family business a fighting chance. 💚 Support Swamp Cafe on GoFundMe: https://lnkd.in/eTZcwSqT See Sam Olvera's TikTok that turned things around: https://lnkd.in/eTq_JsKD

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games kick off today! We’re proud to support our friends at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF), who help make the Team USA athletes’ dreams come true 🙌 The USOPF is raising significant funds to support athletes on and off the field of play —ensuring Team USA athletes have the resources to train, compete at the highest levels and successfully transition to a life beyond sport. 100% of donations go to the athletes and the programs that support them, so if you’re feeling inspired, go to the link in our bio to support U.S. athletes 🇺🇲

  • The Washington Post laid off hundreds of its journalists this week, and a verified fundraiser to support them with financial aid, job search help, and other assistance quickly raised over $360,000 from over 3,000 individual donations. "What has made The Post special for so long is the people in this newsroom. How resourceful we are. How much we care for each other. And that will continue," organizers write, noting the fundraiser will be managed in part by members of the Post's News Guild. In addition, reporters started a fundraiser for laid off international employees — this includes correspondents and editors outside the U.S., as well as local employees – researchers, translators, office managers and drivers – in places from Cairo to Mexico City, according to the GoFundMe. Together, these fundraisers serve as a powerful reminder of how quickly people show up for their colleagues when livelihoods are on the line, especially in times of immense change. It’s officially been a month since joined GoFundMe and I’ve loved every minute. As I’ve talked with so many nonprofit leaders, and the teams who work alongside them every day, one truth keeps surfacing: Fundraising is getting harder. Nonprofit leaders are being asked to do more with fewer resources, amid a shrinking donor base and changing donor behavior. And yet, fundraisers keep going. With passion and commitment to their missions. What’s becoming clear to me is that the problem isn’t strategy or effort. It’s infrastructure and tools. That’s why I’m here. I joined GoFundMe because I believe fundraisers are the architects of generosity. They connect donors with the causes they love. Those who support frontline fundraisers owe them tools built for today and the generations to come. I’ve already seen how deeply trust is embedded into product decisions, how seriously the people who work at GoFundMe Pro take their role as a partner to the sector, and how that committment drives a spirit of innovation. I’m excited to keep listening, learning, and building alongside fundraisers in my role here.

As the Olympics kick off later this week, it’s worth pausing to think about everything it takes for the athletes to get there. Great talent is the essential precondition, but getting to the Olympics takes so much more. Intense focus. Sustained discipline. Extensive training that requires a massive time commitment. Learning to push as hard as possible while avoiding overtraining. Psychological preparation. Competing to win a place on the national team. To successfully navigate all these steps, athletes (and their families) need help - coaching, financial backing, and support in many forms. No one makes it to the games without the support of their community. To make that support easier, we’ve built a GoFundMe Community that brings together verified fundraisers and trusted nonprofits dedicated to supporting athletes through every step of the journey: https://gfme.co/46fISOH That includes GoFundMe Pro partner organizations like the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team, all working to help athletes compete at the highest level. Good luck to all the athletes competing in #Milan.

One of the most important decisions we make every day is where we put our attention. When asked to share a single piece of advice for MBA students, it’s something I always come back to: being intentional about how we invest our time. I shared this in conversation with Dean Margaret Shih and a thoughtful group of MBA students at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where we talked about careers, leadership, and innovation. In today’s attention economy, our active consciousness is our most precious — and pressured — resource. Where we choose to focus shapes not only what we build and what inspires us, but how we lead and who we become. This connects to another leadership lesson we spent time on: being relentlessly clear on your why. That clarity is the foundation for creating alignment, building trust with your team, and executing on your strategy. I’m grateful to Dean Shih and the UCLA Anderson students for such an engaged, grounded conversation — and for the perspective they brought to it. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Shirley Raines, and our hearts are with her loved ones. Ms. Shirley wore many hats during her life; she was a community leader, a mother, a CNN hero, and a person who loved helping others. She was dedicated to providing dignity-restoring services to unhoused individuals, including on Skid Row in Los Angeles. In doing so, she sparked a movement of leaders showing up for their communities with compassion and care. Her light lives on as so many continue to support her mission by donating to her organization’s GoFundMe, a beautiful reminder that her legacy, compassion, and kindness will never be forgotten.
