In Q3, we delivered Google’s first-ever $100 billion revenue quarter driven by double-digit growth across every major part of our business. Highlights include: — Our first party models, like Gemini, now process 7B tokens per minute, via direct API use by our customers. —  The Gemini app now has over 650M monthly active users, and queries increased by 3x from Q2. — Rolled out AI Overviews and AI Mode in record time.  AI Mode now in 40 languages, with 75M daily users. US AI Mode queries doubled in Q3 - really popular feature. —  Google Cloud had another great quarter of accelerating growth with AI revenue as a key driver. The Cloud backlog grew to $155B. — And we crossed 300M paid subscriptions, led by growth in Google One and YouTube Premium. Thanks to our employees and partners around the world for a milestone quarter. Read my remarks from the call here: https://lnkd.in/eQmvQPs9

Today, we're introducing the AI for Math Initiative, supported by Google DeepMind and Google.org. It brings together five of the world's most prestigious research institutions to pioneer the use of AI in mathematical research. The inaugural partner institutions are:  -Imperial College London -Institute for Advanced Study -Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques - IHES -Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing -Tata Institute of Fundamental Research These partner institutions will work towards the shared goals of identifying the next generation of mathematical problems ripe for AI-driven insights, building the infrastructure and tools to power these advances and, ultimately, accelerating the pace of discovery. We hope this new initiative can explore how AI can accelerate discovery in mathematical research, and tackle harder problems. Learn more. http://goo.gle/3J8u9gn

It’s an honor to be recognized by Forbes again this year as a top employer for engineers in America! Every day I’m blown away by our engineering teams. From building cutting-edge AI to groundbreaking research, they're creating helpful products for billions of users around the world. From Forbes: “When new hires join Google, they typically don’t ramp up through a tedious onboarding process. Instead, they dive right in, placed directly into their teams with access to AI-based onboarding programs and a chatbot trained on Google’s own code and documentation. The result: ‘a high-performing workplace culture that attracts and retains curious, talented and passionate people,’ says Jen Fitzpatrick, senior vice president of core systems and experiences at Google.” Read the whole article here: https://lnkd.in/ezSyG-SD

We announced a collaboration with NextEra Energy to accelerate nuclear deployment across the U.S., including the restart of the Duane Arnold Energy Center in Iowa. Through this agreement, we’re enabling the investment to restart the plant and covering costs for the production of energy from Duane Arnold. We expect Duane Arnold to be back online in early 2029, and the plant will provide more than 600 MW of clean and safe nuclear energy to the regional grid. This will support our growing cloud and AI infrastructure in Iowa and bring thousands of jobs and substantial economic benefits to the state. Each morning, Software Developer Abhigya gets a head start on his day on the GBus from Toronto to Google Kitchener-Waterloo, where he charts the course for the next generation of smart home technology on the Google Home Platform Developer Experience team. Once he arrives, Abhigya starts each morning with a quick planning session to scope out the work for the day. "As a Software Developer, my core responsibility is to bring the high level ideas and vision for Google Home Platform’s Developer Console to life by writing code,” he explains. “Most of my time is spent developing new features for the Developer Console, fixing bugs, and making sure our codebase is healthy and maintainable.” But developing complex smart home technology is a team effort, and Abhigya credits the office culture for making innovation possible. "You are also encouraged to ask questions and to collaborate, which makes the exchange of ideas and experiences extremely easy, he says. “I believe this makes the environment extremely conducive to professional and personal growth.” Ready to join the collaborative environment at Google Kitchener-Waterloo? Vice President, Google. Head of Google Research.

Over the past two weeks, we've seen a flurry of new results from Google Research, from genomics to quantum computing to geospatial understanding. These breakthroughs exemplify what I call the “magic cycle” of research: addressing global challenges and opportunities with foundational research that leads directly to real-world applications and solutions. These solutions not only benefit millions around the world, but they also uncover more important problems to solve. Research is our chance—and imperative—to improve day-to-day lives, and address societal challenges and opportunities, and it means that research and innovation is never 'done.' Three highlights on latest from Google Research in collaboration with other teams: ✨ Fighting Cancer with AI  Our decade-long effort in genomics led to DeepSomatic, an AI-powered tool that accurately spots genetic variants in cancer cells. Our partners used it to identify 10 new genetic variants in childhood leukemia samples that were missed by previous techniques, advancing personalized treatment. Separately, the Cell2Sentence-Scale 27B model successfully generated a novel, validated hypothesis for a combination cancer therapy. ✨ Verifiable Quantum Advantage  We demonstrated the Quantum Echoes algorithm on our Willow chip. This marks the world's first verifiable quantum algorithm that brings us a step closer to practical applications of quantum computing, such as designing better materials and medicines, by more precisely modeling quantum behavior that classical supercomputers cannot. ✨ Understanding Earth  Our new initiative, Earth AI, focuses on synthesizing disparate geospatial information and predictive models. This multi-year effort will make it possible to tackle complex planetary science and crisis resilience questions—like precisely predicting vulnerable communities and infrastructure during an impending storm, or help in complex logistics planning—that are currently impossible to answer due to the complexity of integrating diverse data. The magic cycle is accelerating significantly, powered by stronger models, and agentic tools, like AI co-scientist and AI-based expert-level empirical software. And it applies across many disciplines and domains. Today, the energy was palpable at our flagship Research@ event in Mountain View. The opportunity to advance research and AI is greater than ever and I’m excited about how AI can be an amplifier of human ingenuity. Energized by the amazing team of Google Research and what they can do in collaboration with great colleagues and the community.
