We would like to give a shoutout to Teen REACH students who worked together to raise more than $900 through special concession sales during weekly YMCA camp events this summer. Fundraising activities helped campers learn the value of teamwork, improve their organizational skills, establish leadership roles, and promote kindness in their community. We are now proud to say these funds will offer support to families in need this holiday season. And don’t forget, you can help the Y spread holiday cheer by dropping off donations of unwrapped toys in our Toys for Tots collection boxes. Boxes are located at all Greater Joliet Area YMCA branches and collections will continue through December 5.

Shoutout to Tori Dutkiewicz, our Before and After School Care Director, for presenting at the 2025 Illinois State Alliance of YMCA's Fall Rally last week! Tori led a workshop titled “SEL: Leading Thru the Lens of the Child,” where she shared practical tools to help YMCA childcare staff better support children with special needs and accommodations. Her amazing session equipped participants with strategies they can use right away in their own programs! We are so proud of Tori’s leadership and the positive impact she is making for the youth and families across Illinois! #ILRally2
