📃Some individuals who live, study, or conduct business in the United States obtain an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to comply with U.S. tax laws. However, a common misconception persists — that having an ITIN allows someone to work legally in the United States. The truth is: an ITIN does not provide work authorization. 📖 Read the latest EB-5 Blog post titled “Can Individuals Work in the US With an ITIN?” by Kate Kalmykov. 🔗: https://bit.ly/4qmq4pv #GTBlogs #EB5 #ITIN #WorkAuthorization #ImmigrationLaw

On Sept. 29, 2025, California Gov. Newsom signed Senate Bill 53 (https://bit.ly/476L7F4) the Transparency in Frontier Artificial Intelligence Act, into law. Aimed at preventing catastrophic risks from advanced AI systems, the law sets requirements for large developers working with “frontier models”—including mandatory safety measures, adherence to national and international standards, and public transparency reports. A “frontier model” is defined by the amount of computing power used during training, fine-tuning, or modification—specifically, any model requiring more than 10^26 integer or floating-point operations. 📚Read more in the latest #GTAlert by Kurt Kappes, Timothy Long, and Noah Woo: https://bit.ly/47Caizf. #LaborandEmployment #CaliforniaEmployment #AI #FrontierModels #WhistleblowerRetaliation #EmployeeProtections

🏛️In the last week of the New York State legislative session, the Senate and Assembly passed S8432/A8662-A. As of Oct. 22, 2025, this legislation has not been sent to the governor for her signature. Assuming Gov. Hochul signs the legislation into law, it would change New York’s current alignment with the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), thereby modifying the New York specific reporting requirements. 📝Learn more in the latest #GTAlert by Elizabeth Colombo Garvey and Cathryn O.
