I left the GroceryShop 2025 event inspired… and just uncomfortable enough to know that change was required. With the new year, I’ve been reflecting on the shifts we’re actively making at Scheid, and I am very grateful to be part of an organization that’s willing to question old ways of working and invest in what’s next. Thank you Kristina P. for attending with me, and helping to metabolize and drive a lot of these changes! The retail grocery landscape is evolving fast. Five signals that really stood out and sparked action for our marketing team are: • Private labels are rising as consumers seek value without sacrificing quality • AI is becoming table stakes, from retail media to supply chains • Consumer behavior is increasingly value-driven, health-focused, and omnichannel • Retail media networks and social commerce are exploding • Agility and collaboration across brands, retailers, and tech partners are no longer optional So, what are we doing with these insights? First, we recommended and kicked off three company-wide initiatives to help us stay competitive as a challenger brand in a tough, fast-changing market: 1. Build a unified data platform (“lakehouse”) with AI integration to power personalization, forecasting, reporting/optimization, and company-wide visibility 2. Shift to a more agile innovation pipeline, launching quick pilots, fail-fast learning, and rapid scaling to lean into our competitive advantages as a mid-size winery 3. Rethink how we work cross-functionally, forming small, digital-enabled, goal-aligned “pods,” encouraging agility and end-to-end ownership instead of silos To keep the momentum going, we also launched a 10-part Marketing Education Series, with team members leading topics they’re passionate about: from AI / GEO to segmentation and personalization, advanced analytics and attribution, emerging consumer trends, and agile process development. Watching the team lean in, learn, implement executional optimizations, and challenge each other has been incredibly energizing. I’ll be sharing deeper dives on each of these topics in the coming weeks, to highlight the great work of my team and to hear your thoughts on and experience with these dynamic topics. For now, I would be interested to know which of these trends you see making the biggest impact in 2026? And if you attended GroceryShop or a similar recent event, what were your big takeaways? https://groceryshop.com/

What if eating healthy didn’t depend on your zip code or your income? Check out how Thrive Market is making that vision a reality. We brought Thrive Market CEO Nick Green to the Groceryshop 2025 main stage because few leaders embody today’s grocery transformation like he does. With 1.6 million subscribers, Thrive Market is expanding access nationwide and redefining how affordability and wellness can coexist. Nick joined Sarah Engel of January Digital to explore how purpose and an AI-powered approach to preferences are helping consumers make more consistent, healthier decisions. Check out the full keynote at the link in the comments.

ICYMI: Last week at Groceryshop we announced ShelfOptix— a first-of-its-kind scanning service that delivers robot-powered shelf intelligence at scale without the cost, labor, or oversight of actually owning the robots. ShelfOptix™ combines portable shelf-scanning robots powered by BrainOS® with Driveline Retail Merchandising’s workforce of 15,000+ field reps to give retailers and brands a consistent, reliable source of truth for what’s happening at the shelf. Why it matters: ✔️ Traditional audits are spotty ✔️ In-store teams are stretched thin ✔️ Other capture methods are inconsistent This is a new model for shelf intelligence — one that makes accurate visibility accessible, actionable, and scalable across the industry. #AI #USA #CPGs #inventorymanagement #ConsumerPackagedGoods #UnitedStates #braincorp #retail #MadeInTheUSA #ItJustWorks #brainos #ArtificialIntelligence
