In memory of our beloved colleague and friend Amy Kane, Hall Prangle established the Amy Kane Memorial Award to honor her legacy. Last year, we were proud to present the second annual award to Molly Pankauskas, who recently used the award gift to attend the Federation of State Medical Boards’ national conference in Seattle. About us
Businesses across the nation face unrelenting attack in the tort litigation system from an increasingly sophisticated, motivated and aggressive plaintiff's bar. Adverse verdicts are skyrocketing and eight-figure awards are no longer the exception, but a sad reality in today's litigation environment. In this turbulent and risky legal environment, Hall Prangle LLC provides its clients with the sound, proven legal defense they need and deserve. Hall Prangle LLC opened its doors for business in August 2002, but our roots in the catastrophic defense litigation field stretch back decades. The attorneys who created Hall Prangle comprised much of the medical litigation department at Lord Bissell & Brook LLP, one of the largest firms in Chicago with a century-long history of strong defense litigation experience. Since that time, Hall Prangle has emerged as one of the premier litigation defense firms in the city. Based in Chicago, we have grown from our original group of 13 attorneys to our current strength of 70 attorneys located in 10 offices in six states, including Illinois, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Utah.

The Illinois Supreme Court recently ruled that a speculative risk of future harm isn't enough to establish standing in data breach cases. In a win for healthcare providers, the Court dismissed a class action lawsuit over an alleged email breach, finding no evidence of misuse of data and no “injury in fact.” Read more from Samuel Schwab on the implications for healthcare defendants: https://lnkd.in/g5pBxQni

HPS Associate Gilma B. recently had the opportunity to return to her alma mater, UCLA, for Bruin Bound, an event designed to welcome newly admitted freshmen and their families as they explore life at UCLA. As a 2017 graduate with a Psychology Major and Education Minor, Gilma spoke on the alumni panel about how UCLA prepared her for a career in law and helped shape her into the person she is today. She also connected with admitted students from the Chicago area interested in pre-law, making the experience even more rewarding. Also on the panel was Anupama Gupta, a VP at JP Morgan Chase and a 2019 graduate who double majored in Economics and Political Science. We love seeing our attorneys giving back and sharing their journeys with the next generation of professionals.
