Minnesota employers: The new Paid Leave Act takes effect January 1, 2026, and there are key steps to take before then. ✅ Provide written notice to all employees by December 1, 2025 (in their primary language). ✅ Get acknowledgment of receipt or document refusal. ✅ Post the Paid Leave notice in your usual workplace location. ✅ New hires after December 1 must receive the notice within 30 days. The model notice and poster are now available on the Minnesota Paid Leave website. It’s time to prepare—these requirements are an important first step toward compliance with Minnesota’s new Paid Leave program. We’re finally sharing a few highlights from our end-of-summer Community Shred Event! The Marshfield team helped our neighbors securely dispose of 2,311 pounds of confidential documents — and all of it was recycled responsibly. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this event and help us keep our community safe (and clutter-free!).

Another great year for our Housing Authority Financial Workshop! Over 70 attendees joined us in La Crosse to dive into key financial topics, share ideas, and strengthen their housing authority operations. A huge shoutout to our amazing Hawkins Ash CPAs team for the time, preparation, and expertise they brought to every session — your hard work truly made this event a success. We’re grateful for the engagement, thoughtful questions, and collaboration throughout the two-day workshop.

Last week, our team had a great time at the annual Wisconsin Institute of CPAs (WICPA) Golf Outing! ⛳ We were proud to support the event as a golf ball sponsor and cheer on our participants: Kevin Kaszubowski, CPA, Bob Watson, Dan Quentin Fochs, CPA, and Aaron Bahr.
