This Veterans Day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who have honorably served for their courage, commitment and selflessness. Yesterday, we invited our veterans, colleagues and patients to celebrate and honor our veterans’ service and sacrifice for our country during our 2025 Veterans Day Ceremony. We also celebrated the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps with a cake cutting ceremony, serving guests of honor and the oldest and youngest marine present with the first slice of cake, cut with a marine saber. A special touch was having Max the Bald Eagle from the The Avian Reconditioning Center for Birds of Prey present to take pictures with our colleagues during the event, and provide education on the preservation of our country's national bird. Putting our patients at the center of our care is what we do. On this #FeelGoodFriday, we are proud to celebrate the teamwork of our care team to provide compassionate outreach care to our patients. Dr. Maulik Jani and patient care technician LaTasha Thompson were caring for a patient on our 5 North Neuroscience unit who was unable to care for their dog and had no one to help. Dr. Jani and LaTasha worked together to find and pay for housing for the patient's dog while the patient was receiving care in the hospital. Dr. Jani and LaTasha, we are absolutely honored to have you both as part of our family here at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital.
