  • At 76, Rachel is winning her fight against neuroendocrine cancer and getting back to her passion: making baby quilts. She previously underwent complex open surgery with Dr. Eric Liu at HCA HealthONE to remove tumors. But when she needed more treatment, Dr. Liu offered her a revolutionary, non-invasive option: Histotripsy. This cutting-edge procedure uses sound waves to destroy liver tumors. The recovery difference? 10 days in the hospital for surgery versus two days for histotripsy. This faster recovery gave Rachel the time and hope she needed to return to her quilting.
