American Water Works Association’s Journal AWWA is making it easy to catch up on the latest WRF guidance on pipe rig tests for corrosion control. Pipe rig tests using harvested pipes are a critical tool for understanding corrosion control treatment options. These tests, often required under the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Improvements, help utilities make informed decisions to protect public health. Congratulations to the authors — David A. Cornell, Rebecca Slabaugh, Caroline Russell, Melinda Friedman, and HDR’s Pierre Kwan — for creating important guidelines that support utilities in navigating complex regulatory requirements while advancing safe drinking water practices. With the support of an HDR Canada Fund grant sponsored by Ryan Pendleton, associate design principal, the Pedal Foundation will refurbish 200 bikes for the Pedals for the People program in Vancouver, British Columbia. The bikes will be distributed to low-income individuals, with accessories and maintenance provided. “As an avid cyclist, I know how rare and meaningful it is to have a place where parts are accessible and affordable, knowledge is readily shared, and community is created through empowerment and engagement,” Ryan said. “I’m excited to see this successful grant funding go to such a worthy cause.” Learn more: https://bit.ly/4717ryB #CompanyCulture
