HCN was excited to join the Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) Conference in September! At the conference, attendees learned more about miEpic, HCN’s nationally recognized Epic model built specifically for Michigan's community health centers. Our miEpic Learning Labs gave a hands-on look at Epic in action. Led by HCN SMEs, sessions highlighted tools and workflows for scheduling & registration, revenue cycle & claims, clinical workflows, behavioral health, and dental, showing how miEpic will support community health centers every step of the way. Health Choice Network Associates volunteered with Jessie Trice Community Health System, Inc. (JTCHS) for their Farm Share Drive-Thru Distribution for families in need earlier this month. Today is National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD), a day to help stop HIV stigma and promote ways to address the disproportionate impact of HIV on Latinx communities. Racism, discrimination, xenophobia, HIV-related stigma, homophobia, economic disparities, a fragmented healthcare system, and other longstanding barriers are key drivers of the disproportionate impact of HIV among Hispanic and Latino communities in the U.S. To end the HIV epidemic, the nation must scale up HIV testing, link people with HIV to care and treatment, and ensure equitable access to HIV prevention—including PrEP—for everyone who could benefit. #NLAAD #StopHIVTogether #HIV #AIDS #CHCs #HCN #HCCNs #HIVPrevention #PrEP

Health center leaders from Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) came together last week at HCN Headquarters for the Clinical Leaders Workshop, hosted by AllianceChicago and Health Choice Network. This bi-annual event brings together clinical, nursing, operational, and quality leaders to share experiences, exchange best practices, and strengthen knowledge across clinical operations, quality performance, and leadership. The workshop serves as a space for collaboration, learning, and continued growth in support of the vital work health centers do every day. We were honored to have Mary Blankson, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, FAAN, Chief Nursing Officer at Community Health Center, Inc., who flew in to present and share valuable insights on leadership and advancing clinical excellence. During our Day of Giving in September, the HCN Team had the incredible honor of supporting His House Children's Home in creating a safe, welcoming, and hopeful space for twin siblings who recently aged out of foster care. Together, we transformed their apartment, from furnishing it with comfort and style to adding the little touches that make a space truly feel like home.   This was more than just a makeover. It was a gift of dignity, stability, and belonging, and a reminder that these young women are seen, valued, and never alone.
