  •  Caregiver Shout Out: Recognizing Evy “...this is directly related to the quality of care he's receiving from Evy and the intention she puts into her outings with him. I'm so grateful to her and your whole team for improving the quality of life for my client.” This powerful feedback came from a guardian who noticed remarkable changes in their client — increased happiness, engagement, and even improved memory — all thanks to Evy’s dedicated care. Evy has been part of our Help at Home Senior Care team for about two and a half years, bringing both skill and heart to every client she serves. Her passion for caregiving runs in the family — she helped care for her grandmother, Evelyn Mount, a Reno-Sparks community icon who ran a food bank from her home. Inspired by that example, Evy began her professional caregiving journey in 2011. Evy exemplifies the very best of in-home care — compassionate, skilled, and deeply committed. We’re so proud to have her on our team.

  • On Wednesday, September 24th, Help at Home Senior Care had the privilege of hosting a Centenarian Celebration at the National Automobile Museum in Reno—a day dedicated to honoring remarkable individuals who have reached the milestone of 100 years and beyond. We are deeply grateful to the centenarians and their families, many of whom traveled from out of town, for sharing their stories, history, and secrets to longevity with us. It was an honor to celebrate your lives and legacies. A heartfelt thank you to the National Automobile Museum for going above and beyond—not only providing a stunning venue and creating custom license plates for each centenarian, but also showcasing a 1925 automobile in the event room so our guests could celebrate alongside a 100-year-old car. Such a thoughtful and memorable gesture! We also thank Mayor Hilary Schieve and her team for attending, presenting keys to the city, and issuing a proclamation—adding a memorable spark to the day. We also want to acknowledge our senior care community partners for contributing snacks, drinks, and support, as well as Jodi from our Help at Home team for coordinating this meaningful event. At Help at Home, we are proud to provide in-home senior care, home health care, and elder care services that not only support daily living but also foster meaningful connections and honor the incredible lives of those we serve.

  • At Help at Home Senior Care, we proudly support our veterans — not only through the in-home care we provide, but by promoting causes that change lives in meaningful (and sometimes furry) ways. That’s why we’re excited to share Liberty Dogs — a program where individuals and families can raise and train a service puppy for 12 to 16 months before that dog becomes a lifesaving companion for a veteran. Sure, raising a puppy takes commitment — but how fun would it be to love, train, and care for an adorable dog knowing that you're preparing them to change a veteran’s life? A little puppy breath, a lot of love, and a lifelong impact. Want to get involved or learn more? Visit: www.LibertyDogs.org Email: PuppyDepartment@LibertyDogs.org

  • We recently received this handwritten note from a client family, and it stopped me in my tracks. Simple words, but they speak volumes. Helping families navigate end-of-life care is one of the most sacred and humbling parts of in-home care. It’s a time when kindness, presence, and compassion matter more than anything else—and when being surrounded by people who truly care makes all the difference. This work isn’t easy. But it’s the most rewarding thing I know—supporting seniors and their families with dignity, love, and real connection. We so grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this way.
