#HCInTheNews Check it out! Henderson Collegiate celebrates Senior Signing Day By Alicia Hawk For the Dispatch Jun 4, 2025 HENDERSON — On May 21, Henderson Collegiate celebrated its annual Senior Signing Day, recognizing the accomplishments and college commitments of the 80 seniors in the Pride of 2025. Designed to honor the academic journeys and future plans of each graduate, SSD put student creativity, personality and ambition on full display as students announced their college decisions in unique, heartfelt and high-energy ways. Senior Signing Day is an academic tradition at Henderson Collegiate — their version of a student-athlete signing ceremony. Since the first graduating class in 2019, the school has made it a priority to shine a spotlight on students’ academic achievements, college acceptances, and scholarship awards. The celebration marked a moment of pride not just for students, but for families, staff and the entire community. This year’s accomplishments set new records in the school’s history: * 100% 4-year college acceptance rate for all seniors * $20.3 million in merit-based scholarships earned — the highest total ever * 7 full-ride merit scholarships, including: - Three QuestBridge National College Match Scholarships - Two Odyssey Program Scholarships at Elon University - TheDream.US Scholarship - The HOPE Scholarship at Hollins University * Competitive merit scholarships - Two Golden LEAF Scholarships - Data Analytics Scholar at Elon University - University Innovation Fellows at Elon University * 73% of the class accepted to a top-tier college or university * Keishea Hoffler earned $1,217,600 in merit scholarships, including two full-ride scholarships “This is the first year in our school’s history that we’ve had more than one student earn a QuestBridge Match — and this year, all three of our QuestBridge Scholars matched!” said Principal Taro Shigenobu. “Matching through QuestBridge is one of the hardest ways to earn a full scholarship, and their success is a testament to their grit, academic excellence, and courage to dream big.” The Pride of 2025 dazzled the audience with college reveals that captured their individuality — from costume changes to live performances — each student owned their moment as they declared their next chapter. Henderson Collegiate thanks the incredible team of teachers, college counselors, families and school leaders who have supported this milestone. Their dedication, care and belief in every student made today’s achievements possible. Graduation will take place on Friday, June 6, at McGregor Hall in Henderson. [TICKETED EVENT]
