When art meets purpose? Magic happens 💫 The Roger Glass Center for the Arts turns performance into experience, art into community, and design into lasting impact. Every choice reflects University of Dayton's mission: natural light and materials, five times more greenery on site, energy-saving LED lighting, and heat-recovery HVAC—designed to inspire and protect what matters: our art, people, and planet. 📍 Dayton, OH 📸: Feinknopf Studio 🔗: https://lnkd.in/eC52HMh5

Where precision meets purpose—engineering that turns performance into healing. At SSM Health Dean Medical Group’s South Madison Campus, our engineers turned performance into purpose by shaping air, light, and energy into a building that heals from the inside out. As the largest WELL Certified healthcare facility in the nation, the clinic sets a new standard for how the built environment can advance wellness. Behind the scenes, efficient MEP systems, radiant heating, and a 90kW solar array work together to reduce energy use by 22%—the equivalent of removing 460 cars from the road each year. Sustainability, comfort, and care engineered to work as one. 📍SSM Health – Dean Medical Group Fish Hatchery Campus | Madison, WI 📸: John Magnoski

The greenest building is often the one that’s already standing. One example is our San Diego studio. Our team approached the existing building like an “archaeological site,” creating simple, collaborative spaces that reveal the beauty of its original materials. Exposed brick walls highlight legacy reuse and the value of designing with what already exists. In our latest insights, we explore how reusing and repurposing existing materials helps answer what it means to build for the long term—reducing embodied carbon while honoring history, conserving resources, and shaping a more circular future. Barry Mills Hall and the John and Lile Gibbons Center for Arctic Studies at Bowdoin College—Maine’s first commercial-scale mass timber buildings—reduce carbon by 80% while honoring more than 120 years of Arctic engagement. Drawing inspiration from Bowdoin's pine groves, Georgian red brick campus, and Arctic expedition slide collection, these sibling buildings' vaulted spaces invite exploration and discovery.
