Is there anything better than Shabbat on campus? Maybe just one thing — bringing together all four Hillel San Diego campuses for a MEGA Shabbat! 🧡 Students from Hillel at SDSU, UCSD Hillel, USD Hillel, and CSUSM Hillel came together to share a delicious meal in the sukkah, connect on a “schmooze cruise,” join in a lively Kabbalat Shabbat service, and show off their creativity in a sukkah decorating competition. The energy, connection, and community were unmatched. ✨

@Greater Portland Hillel hosted a special Shabbat recently for student leaders, and it SHOREly looked meaningful! 🌊 These Jewish students gathered at Cannon Beach for a peaceful retreat grounded in reflection and connection, giving them a meaningful opportunity to recharge!

Hunter Hillel partnered with Cru, the Sikh Student Association, and the John Henry Catholic Newman Club for the first Interfaith Prayer event of the semester at Hunter College! 🌎✨ Students from all different faiths shared their religion’s values and approaches to prayer — from the siddur, to rosaries, to scripture, to rituals. Through curiosity and open dialogue, students found common ground, learned from each other, and celebrated religious diversity on campus.

KSU Hillel got into the spooky sukkah spirit! 🎃👻 This week, Jewish students at Kennesaw State University State University came together to celebrate Sukkot with a traditional Israeli lunch in the sukkah, and finished it off with a festive pumpkin carving! It was a great opportunity to connect, build community, and enjoy the season together.

We are filled with grief as the identities of five more slain hostages have been confirmed: Tamir Nimrodi, Uriel Baruch, Eitan Levy, Inbar Haiman, and Muhammad el-Atrash. 💔 Today, our hearts are with the thousands of people who gathered in Israel to pay their final respects to Staff Sgt. Tamir Nimrodi and Sgt. Maj. Muhammad el-Atrash, whose bodies were returned this week as part of the ceasefire. May their memories be a blessing, and may their families find comfort and healing. 🕊️ We continue to pray for the return of all the deceased hostages still held in Gaza, so that every family can finally lay their loved ones to rest.

UVM Hillel is STEPPING up to the plate for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗🏃♂️ Last week, Jewish students at the University of Vermont laced up for a 5K fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support. And they’re not stopping there... next up, they’re hosting a babka bake, with all proceeds benefiting Sharsheret: The Jewish Breast & Ovarian Cancer Community a Jewish nonprofit supporting women and families impacted by breast and ovarian cancer. We’re so proud to see our Hillel community turn compassion into action.

When financial stress and mental health challenges nearly forced a CUNY student to drop out of college, the Hillel Hub at Baruch College College became his lifeline. With access to food assistance, counseling, and career support, he’s now on track to graduate and already has a job lined up! His story is one of many made possible through a partnership between UJA Federation Of Ny and Hillel. Together, we're transforming CUNY Hillels into full-service community hubs — helping Jewish students, many from immigrant and Orthodox backgrounds, overcome real barriers to completing their education. From kosher food pantries and mental health counseling to career guidance and emergency assistance, Hillel Hubs meet students where they are — offering both care and connection under one roof. “It meets students where they’re at. It’s about getting the support that Jewish students need,” said Raphael Cooper, senior social worker at Baruch College. Our hearts are heavy. Two years after being taken hostage, Yossi Sharabi, Bipin Joshi, Daniel Peretz, and Guy Illouz have been returned to Israel to be laid to rest. 💔 May their memories be a blessing, and may their families find healing and peace. 🕯️
