Youth from Hillside’s Andrews-Trahey school enjoyed the fourth annual Roc with Your Hands event, where they explored careers like skilled trades, automotive, heavy equipment, and advanced manufacturing. The Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association sponsored this hands-on career exploration. Thank you to RTMA and its partners for providing our students with such a hands-on and inspiring day! #StrongFuturesTogether

Hillside Foster Care Specialists from the Western Region recently participated in a Foster Parent Recruitment event hosted by the Coalition of Adoption and Foster Family Agencies (CAFFA) in Buffalo. This wonderful event allowed our staff to share valuable information about Hillside’s Therapeutic Foster Care program with the community. #WorldMentalHealthDay was a perfect occasion for Hillside's third annual Clinical Conference. This daylong learning event gathered dozens of clinical professionals to hone their clinical skills in workshops, breakout sessions and more — including a visit from a few therapy dogs, supporting advances in pet therapy! We're grateful to the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship for hosting this great #HillsideStrong event.

Beth Rapke, a mother of triplets, struggled with her decision to place her son Taylor’s care in the hands of others. The thought of leaving her son somewhere indefinitely made her scared. After she sought help from Hillside, her fears began to dissipate when she realized that Taylor was safe and that his care team would include her in his development. With the support and care of the staff, Taylor has made great strides in his journey. #StoriesofHillside

Happy National Child Health Day! Hillside recognizes the importance of mental, physical, and emotional health for everyone, especially children. We also want to thank the Hillside nurses, clinicians, psychologists, and all our direct care staff for taking care of the youth we serve. #StrongerFuturesTogether

Earlier this week, staff, leaders and youth at Hillside's Snell Farm Campus hosted an Open House event for our state and county partners. We're so grateful to all who attended to learn more about our programs, take a tour of the facilities at our Bath, NY, site, and even hear from the youth themselves about the school and camp projects that they're most proud of. And it was a perfect day to see this gorgeous campus up close!

Every other week, students at Hillside’s Andrews-Trahey school participate in food demonstrations hosted by our Properties & Food Service and Recreation teams, where youth can learn, prep, and cook culinary treats to share. They recently made a fan favorite: Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip with a healthy twist by adding yogurt and cottage cheese. What a great vocational activity!
