We've officially broken ground on our new Geocycle North America fly ash Benefication facility in Skippers, Virginia. Set to open in April 2026, this facility—along with our Holly Hill cement plant in South Carolina—will allow us to recycle more than 8 million tons of ponded coal ash. The fly ash we produce in Skippers will be turned into high-quality cementitious material used in low-carbon concrete, reducing on CO₂ emissions. This initiative strengthens both our environmental stewardship and our support for regional economic growth.

Our Milwaukee (WI) terminal team recently gave students from Future Urban Leaders and Project Kindred a tour of the Port of Milwaukee. Visiting key facilities and meeting our team and city leaders, they got a firsthand look at the essential work that keeps the port running and supports the local community. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to engaging the next generation and raising awareness of this vital industry. We thank our partners for their support in making this experience possible.

Our internship program is one of the many ways we’re investing in the future. This year, we’ve welcomed 49 interns from 36 universities to work side by side with our experts across the country. It’s about knowledge-sharing, mutual learning, and preparing bold leaders to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

This week, the US leadership team spent time with employees at our Ste. Genevieve (MO) plant—one of the most technologically advanced in the world. The visit offered a firsthand look at recent upgrades and optimizations made as part of the plant’s expansion plan, which will increase finished cement production capacity. Exciting progress and strong energy on site.

Engaging with industry professionals builds technical understanding while also fostering stronger collaboration and relationships. 🤝 Our Lockport (NY) quarry recently hosted more than 50 professional engineers in partnership with the NYSSPE - New York State Society of Professional Engineers. Attendees earned continuing education credits while getting a firsthand look at our operations, safety practices, and role in local infrastructure.

Across the country, our people build strong communities through acts of service. 💚 We invest in future leaders. Our Ravena (NY) plant hosted a high school student council for a training workshop, connecting one-on-one with the students. And our Ste. Genevieve (MO) team gave elementary kids a hands-on learning experience about native pollinators. 💚 We also showcase our commitment to the Earth with clean-ups, such as the Whitehall (PA) team’s work at the Lehigh River area, filling three pickup trucks to help preserve local waterways and land.
