Spreading Love Through Threads: Dhana Inc. and Homeboy Threads Bring Clothing, Comfort, and Community to 2025 LA’s Wildfire-Affected Children
In a time of crisis, compassion becomes the strongest thread that binds us together. Following the devastating wildfires that swept through the Los Angeles region, Dhana Inc.—a pioneer in purpose-driven fashion—joined forces with Homeboy Threads, the social enterprise of Homeboy Industries, to distribute essential clothing to children and families impacted by the fires.
What made this collaboration even more powerful was its legacy. The donation included 170 cartons of brand-new children’s clothing—from Dhana’s original award-winning organic youth brand, Dhana EcoKids. During its first decade, Dhana EcoKids stood for sustainability, cultural expression, and ethical production, offering garments for children aged 0–16 made from Fairtrade, organic materials. Though the brand has since evolved, this donation became an opportunity to extend its impact far beyond the runway—into the lives of children recovering from trauma and loss.
On January 27, 2025, the shipment was received and palletized at Homeboy Threads’ Commerce, CA facility. Through the partnership:
Altadena Arts Magnet and Eliot Arts Magnet Schools received immediate distributions to support their school communities.
Give Mentor Love, a nonprofit uplifting underserved youth, received their first-ever donation of new clothing—an experience met with joy and deep appreciation. The organization is now storing and distributing these garments throughout the year to families in need.
The remaining clothing will be shared during upcoming community events, including the Homeboy Threads Pop-Up on May 17, part of the broader G Day in LA celebrations—a citywide moment of healing and togetherness. Proceeds from these sales will support Homeboy Industries' broader mission to uplift formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated individuals through employment and community
“We saw an opportunity to give new meaning and value to our inventory by contributing it to a humanitarian cause. Knowing that these garments will reach children in need through your incredible organization fills us with immense gratitude and purpose. Your work is a testament to the power of purpose-driven business, and we are honored to collaborate with you in this shared mission.”
We recognized the dedication and transformation embodied by the Homeboy Threads team— BIG Thank You Linda Lane Corrado and Chris Zwicke, for your commitment and support to this cause.
This initiative reflects not only a response to environmental disaster but a model for how brands can uphold responsibility to both people and planet. It’s a reminder that fashion, at its best, is more than fabric and form—it’s a vehicle for healing, dignity, and solidarity.
