A Legacy of Hope - At last week’s Heroes for Hope, we reflected on 125 years of impact — a legacy that began in 1900 when five Atlantans came together with a radical belief: that no traveler, no neighbor, no human being should face hardship alone. From welcoming weary travelers at the train station, to helping families endure the Great Depression, to walking beside veterans returning home — and today, meeting people under bridges, at MARTA stations, and at the airport — Hope Atlanta has always been there. Always. Showing up. Standing in the gap. Meeting need with dignity, compassion, and possibility. Hope Atlanta serves as a bridge — helping our neighbors move from despair to stability, from homelessness to home, from crisis to self-sufficiency. For 125 years, we’ve met Atlantans where and when they’ve needed us most — and today, we continue that legacy by responding to more than 15,000 calls every month for housing, wraparound support, and behavioral health services. This is 125 years of Hope. #HeroesForHope #HopeAtlanta125 #LegacyOfHope #EndHomelessness #Atlanta

Our vision is to permanently transform lives and communities by ending homelessness.
About us
HOPE Atlanta is one of Georgia’s longest-standing nonprofit agencies dedicated to ending homelessness and hunger in our communities. With special programs for veterans, people living with HIV/AIDS, food-insecure people and families, and people at-risk of becoming homeless, we apply a holistic 1-1 approach to help clients secure the housing and resources they need to achieve self-sufficiency and thrive. We’re working to end long-standing misconceptions about poverty, hunger, and homelessness, elevating our clients’ voices and stories to bring increased attention and urgency to interconnected (and alarmingly widespread) issues of housing insecurity, hunger, and racial injustice. Will you join us?

A night 125 years in the making. From the history panels and handwritten writings of our founders in 1900 to the artifacts and Legacy Wall showcasing 125 years of impact — Heroes for Hope 2025 was truly a night to remember. We gathered in a room filled with compassion and purpose — community members, corporate partners, and leaders across Atlanta — all united in one mission: to end homelessness and create a future where every Georgian has a place to call home. Together, we honored remarkable changemakers whose leadership continues to shape our city’s future: Corporate Hero for Hope: Norfolk Southern – Accepted by Mark George, President & CEO Individual Hero for Hope: Cathryn Vassell Esq., LCSW, CEO of Partners for HOME Founder’s Award: Crystal Hanlon, Senior Vice President and Culture Officer, The Home Depot Thanks to your generosity during our Fund the Mission moment — and throughout the evening — we raised an incredible $1 million to continue building bridges from homelessness to home, from crisis to stability, and from isolation to belonging. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable celebration — to our sponsors, partners, and our extraordinary co-chairs Matt Keith (Bank of America) and Tiffany Callaway Ferrell (Atlanta Gas Light and Chattanooga Gas) — your leadership, energy, and belief in this mission inspire us every day. Here’s to the next 125 years of Hope, compassion, and community. #HeroesForHope #HopeAtlanta125 #LegacyOfHope #EndHomelessness #Atlanta
