It's been a whole week since the first HR in Wales conference and we're still buzzing from the amazing feedback! Key to the networking element of the day were our exhibitors who were showcasing a wide range of services to help HR professionals support their people. So to those who missed the day - while you won't get the freebie take-aways (from Hensol spirits to worry worms and everything in between!) here's a virtual freebie from the HR in Wales team... feel free to engage with our exhibitors directly for more information on their offer. Quantum Advisory, Hugh James, Vester Group, Cardiff and Vale College, ALS Training Ltd, @ACT Ltd, Human Resourcing, The Culture Kit, The CIPD in Wales, Educ8 Training, Geraint Richards, Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, SYNLAB Laboratory Services, esphr, Darogan, Sweetmans and Partners, Endometriosis UK, Resolution at Work Ltd, HSF Health Plan (UK)

Signing off the week tired but happy after the first HR in Wales conference which took place at Cardiff City Stadium yesterday. I'm well aware of the risk to speakers, sponsors and exhibitors in lending their names to an event delivered by a largely untested brand, so I’m especially grateful for their trust and support - testament to the strength of the HR community across Wales and the valuable connections we've built across the years. Happy weekend everyone!

HR in Wales reposted this
Mark Hendy FCIPD shared his insights on how technology disruption is transforming the people profession at the HR in Wales conference. Technology disruption is inevitable, but how organisations respond to it, through adaptability, education and both innovative and ethical thinking – will ultimately define how they thrive. This session considered the risks and opportunities, and how to manage the shift and stay ahead of disruption. #HRinWalesConference2025 #HRinWales #HumanResources #PeopleAndDevelopment

And after a fantastic day of speakers, we welcomed Andy Craggs to give our Closing Keynote. Andy founded The Jump Network in 2006 to help leaders guide their teams through disruption and navigate their organisations towards the future. In 2022 he consolidated much of his work with global organisations such as BBC, Dyson, Apple, in "The Change Mindset - The Psychology of Leading and Thriving in an Uncertain World". He joined us to talk about navigating uncertainty, and learning lessons. #HRinWalesConference2025 #HRinWales #HumanResources #PeopleAndDevelopment

What happens when the rules change overnight, leaving leaders to respond quickly to new issues and challenges with little or no “playbook” as a guide? Louise Price from Hugh James drew on real-world cases to illustrate the implications of making the wrong call in high-pressure situations. #HRinWalesConference2025 #HRinWales #HumanResources #PeopleAndDevelopment

Zoë Baker and Lydia Stirling joined us for a Fireside chat about leadership resilience today at the HR in Wales Conference 2025. Negative news hits the headlines all too often, playing out very publicly with mixed messages at every turn. This session reinforced that an organisation’s long-term success depends on its ability to act responsibly, communicate transparently, and prioritize both its people and its reputation. #HRinWalesConference2025 #HRinWales #HumanResources #PeopleAndDevelopment
