IDEAS For Us (IDEAS) is an Orlando-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an accredited NGO of the United Nations. Our mission is to develop ideas, fund action, and scale solutions that solve the world’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. Since 2008, IDEAS has been guided by a vision to contribute to a future where humanity thrives in harmony with nature and in peace with one another. Urban forestry is taking root in the Pine Hills community thanks to the collaboration of amazing community organizers In September of this year, IDEAS For Us was proud to plant 8 native oak and pine trees along a walking trail and pocket park in Pine Hills. On November 14th, we were honored to host a pocket park dedication event with the wonderful organizers that made this happen. The project supported by the Treesilience program under The Nature Conservancy, the ideas for the project came together by the Pine Hills Community Council, and was helped bring to fruition by the Orange County Parks Department and the Neighborhood Improvement District for Pine Hills. We also welcomed our friends from UCP Pine Hills Charter School, located across the street from the park. Thanks to the commitment and hard work of these amazing partners, we were happy to finally dedicate this pocket park to the community, with the intention of creating more green spaces across the county.
