Current Horizon League commissioner Julie Roe Lach is moving to Pacers Sports & Entertainment. The organization announced Thursday Lach will serve as executive vice president of external relations and community engagement and begin her role in the coming months. “Julie brings an incredible track record of leadership, deep ties to Indianapolis and a passionate commitment to our community,” said Mel Raines, CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, in written remarks. Lach has served as Horizon League commissioner since 2021.

Hillenbrand , based in Batesville, is set to be acquired by an affiliate of Lone Star Funds, a private investment firm in Texas. When the transaction is completed, Hillenbrand said it will become a privately held company and no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange. Hillenbrand is the 19th-largest public company in Indiana with $3.18 billion in revenue in 2024. The company employs more than 10,000 people across its entire footprint. (Full story link in comments)

It's fall sports season at the University of Evansville , and the student-athletes' success is driving energy, excitement and the goal of enhancing the fan experience. UE’s sports programs generated more than $800,000 in ticket revenue during the 2024-25 season, the highest amount in more than a decade. Three teams—men’s soccer, baseball and volleyball—achieved their highest revenue in nearly 10 years. With more than 100,000 fans attending home events, the men’s basketball team witnessed its highest average attendance over the last five seasons.
