At Instacart, we’re harnessing AI to accelerate how we build and capture new opportunities across our business. One example is Project Tomato, an internal initiative where our teams explored AI for automated refactoring, smart debugging, planning, and more. This work showed us how AI can amplify engineering and reveal new ways to move faster. Another example is Fizz, our new drinks and snacks app. By aligning the right AI models to the right problems, structuring our systems for clarity, and making prompt engineering a core capability, we transformed Fizz from a hackathon prototype into a launch-ready product in record time. These are just two ways we’re using AI to move faster, scale innovation, and create more for customers. Back-to-school season can be one of the busiest – and most expensive – times of year for families. According to our recent nationwide survey conducted online by The Harris Poll, nearly two-thirds (64%) of parents with children in school or college are concerned about the cost of the back-to-school season this year. That’s why we’re launching Back-to-School Deal Week (August 11–17). Families can get a free lunchbox snack item each day, like Cheerios, Danimals, and Mott’s Applesauce, with any $10+ order on Instacart. Beyond Deal Week, we’re making it easier to prep for the new school year with 20% off school supplies from select retailers, and stock-up-and-save discounts on everyday essentials now through early September. More on how we’re supporting families this back-to-school season below ⤵️
