It also serves as a hands-on training hub for other community networks in Zimbabwe. ✨ Grantee Highlight ✨ 🇺🇬 Expanding Internet Access for Learning in Uganda 🌍 The Research and Education Network for Uganda RENU is implementing a project to revitalize the metro eduroam deployment nationwide. 📶 With support from the Internet Society Foundation BOLT Grant Program, this project aims to expand off-campus access by deploying RENU-owned Wi-Fi in student hostels and commercial buildings across multiple districts. By decreasing dependence on third-party providers and implementing solar-powered routers along with modern wireless technologies, RENU is providing more reliable, energy-efficient, and consistent Internet access. 🌐 RENU-owned Wi-Fi offers students and staff free, reliable Internet access outside university campuses, supporting learning, research, and collaboration from hostels, residences, and common areas. 👉 This is not only an infrastructure upgrade but also a way to build a stronger, more inclusive digital future for education and research throughout Uganda. #InternetForEveryone #InternetForEducation #Uganda #DigitalInclusion #Grants
