Our teams share an unwavering dedication to improving quality of life for those living with chronic kidney disease. Delivering exceptional care starts with supporting our own team members—from offering benefits such as caregiver leave to supporting an employee resource group for parents and caregivers. In our new Inside Interwell feature, Nattalie Burns, Tanya Greer, and Breanna Parisher share their perspectives on how CARES is building a sense of community at Interwell and ensuring that caregivers have the resources they need to thrive both at home and at work. https://lnkd.in/gjcMS-iZ Together, we’re building a workplace that empowers our teams so they can focus on changing lives for people with CKD. #CKDCare #CaregiverSupport #InsideInterwell #CaregiversCommunity

Really excited to share our latest Pear Healthcare Playbook podcast episode 🎙️ with our newest Pear Industry Council Advisor! What does it really take to scale value-based care across millions of patients? In our latest Pear Healthcare Playbook, I sat down with Dr. Ali Khan, MD, MPP Khan, Chief Medical Officer of CVS Health/Aetna, a CVS Health Company Medicare and one of the most experienced operators in the value-based care world. From Iora Health to CareMore to Oak Street Health, Ali has helped build some of the most transformative models in U.S. healthcare. So grateful for Ali to share his wisdom and time! We covered everything from: 🩺 How to scale a care model from 20 clinics to 200+ 🩺 Why payer-provider alignment is still broken—and how to fix it 🩺 How full-risk contracting can actually work (if done right) 🩺 The future of AI in healthcare operations 🩺 The mindset every founder needs to survive the 0→1 journey in healthcare 🩺 Ali also drops real talk on common startup mistakes (spoiler: you should be pivoting in year one), and why Medicare Advantage is at an inflection point as the pendulum swings from cost reduction to clinical outcomes. Whether you're building, investing, or just curious about how to drive real change in healthcare—I highly recommend taking a listen (pro tip: the podcast episode is more dynamic than the substack post) Link in the comments! #valuebasedcare #healthcareAI Pear VC

Towana Looney lived with a genetically engineered pig kidney for 130 days before it was removed last month due to acute rejection—the longest a human has ever lived with a transplanted pig organ. In addition to this milestone, Tim Andrews became the fourth patient in the U.S. to receive a genetically modified pig kidney transplant in January and the first xenotransplantation clinical trial is set to begin performing transplants on an initial cohort of patients later this year. As clinicians and scientists make incredible progress working to improve access to kidney transplants, we are committed to removing barriers for our patients who decide to embark on the transplantation process. “With my family history, I thought I was bound to end up on dialysis. But my renal care coordinator, Kathy, helped me turn my health around and after three years on the waiting list I received a kidney transplant before ever starting dialysis. Now, I’m back to shag dancing, DJing, and coaching middle school football. Thank you to all the nurses who go the extra mile so people like me get a second chance to live life on our own terms.” – Charlie Cloninger, Interwell patient in Greenville, NC #ThePowerOfNurses #NursesWeek2025 #NursesWeek #ThankYouNurses

Two out of five patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) don’t have a nephrologist. Even more concerning, many are unaware they have CKD until their condition worsens, leading to delayed treatments, hospitalizations, and the dreaded “crash” into dialysis. In the face of a persistent nephrologist shortage, how can we close this care gap? Tune in to the latest episode of #KidneyHealthConnections to hear Interwell Medical Director Dr. Julie Dominguez, MD discuss how we are working to create a kidney care safety net by: 👩💻 Using predictive analytics to identify patients at the highest risk 🧑⚕️ Leveraging telehealth and advanced practice providers (APPs) to provide timely intervention 🤝 Most importantly, connecting patients to local nephrologists to manage their ongoing care Catch the full episode on the listening app of your choice or on our website: https://lnkd.in/ef8UJcca #HealthcareInnovation #KidneyCare #HealthcarePodcast
