This position will be responsible for managing budgets, acquisitions, costs, and Earned Value Management function aspects of all current and future projects; providing leadership via coordination, review, and direction, as well as ensuring top priorities are met by communicating effectively. The position will also support the Integrated Fires Mission Command Product Office on all business, financial, contract, logistics, and technical management activities associated with Integrated Battle Command System/Patriot hardware and software development. Christian Cabaniss, military operations analyst at SPA and USMC Col Ret, shares, “Perhaps the most difficult statistic to take is that today 90 percent of all memory chips, 75 percent of all processor (logic) chips, and 80 percent of all silicon wafers are produced in East Asia, even though those responsible for the semiconductor and the entire semiconductor industry started in the U.S.” This is the first of a four-part series on FOCUS: SPA Perspectives.
