A remarkable night at University Club San Diego as members and guests came together 34 floors above the city to celebrate the Club’s multimillion-dollar transformation and support local nonprofit partner, Olive Crest. Cheers to the team for hosting such an impactful and memorable event.

A special spotlight on our five incredible Executive Chefs who competed as finalists in the 2025 Chef of the Year competition, hosted at the stunning Casa de Campo Resort & Villas. Throughout the week, our chefs showcased their creativity and talent across two signature culinary challenges: 🍴 Cookoff: Each chef was assigned a protein and crafted a tapas-style dish for members and guests to taste and vote on. Congratulations to Chef Trenton Shank of Brier Creek Country Club, our 2025 Cookoff Winner! 🍷 Pairings Dinner: Each chef prepared a course in a five-course tasting menu, paired with curated wines. During cocktail hour, Mixologist of the Year Sammi Jo Hunnicutt delighted guests with her award-winning cocktail, Secret Garden. And a huge congratulations to Chef James Lockley, our 2025 Chef of the Year! This marks his third appearance in the competition, and it’s especially meaningful as he has deep family roots in the Dominican Republic—where he’s also established a foundation supporting local chefs and hospitality professionals.

Rounding out an unforgettable week of exceptional cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, Caribbean golf, island adventures, and new friendships at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in the Dominican Republic. Each year, we look forward to returning to this remarkable destination to experience its world-class hospitality and vibrant culture.
