The recent International Reference Pricing (IRP) Executive Order from the White House in the Unites States is a significant policy shift that will have far-reaching implications for health and healthcare decision making in the US and globally. At ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), we are assessing national and global impacts of such a policy shift. We believe that all health and healthcare decisions – including pricing decisions – must be guided by transparent, rigorous, scientifically grounded methodologies that reflect the complex nuances of local health systems, social, cultural and economic contexts, and patient-centered values. To this end, ISPOR supports any effort to integrate scientific evidence into pricing decisions, as that best serves patients. Stay tuned for more from ISPOR as we continue to engage on this topic and advocate for evidence-driven policy solutions.

In this commentary, Nabyonga-Orem et al emphasize that #WholeHealth is feasible but there is need to reconfigure health system management. Noteworthy is the need for political commitment coupled with sustained actions. Sustainable systems that deliver whole health need a unique complement of governance, health workforce, and service delivery models at the local, national, and global levels—including commitment from global partners in funding decisions and implementation approaches. #HEOR #ValueInHealth #EditorsPick Read here >> https://lnkd.in/eSXbyu7v Thanks to our authors!
