It has been a busy day for the ISS Sustainability Solutions team at the Environmental Finance Future of ESG Data Conference in London. A highlight was Josh Gilbert moderating a lively panel on data modelling for measuring physical climate risk. 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐧 𝐟ü𝐫 #ESG-𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Ab Mitte 2026 müssen Anbieter von ESG-Ratings eine Zulassung der European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) vorweisen. Ziel der Maßnahme: Die Qualität und Transparenz der Bewertungen zu verbessern, Interessenkonflikte zu vermeiden und eine gewisse Vergleichbarkeit zu schaffen. Doch droht dadurch nicht ein Einheitsbrei wie bei Kreditratings? ISS Sustainability Solutions Managing Director Till Jung gibt im Gespräch mit der Börsen-Zeitung Entwarnung: „Die Regulierung sorgt für Offenheit, aber nicht für gleiche Ergebnisse – und das ist gut so.“ Vielmehr würden zum Beispiel strengere Regeln zur Dokumentation der Methodik für mehr Transparenz sorgen – ganz im Sinne der Investoren: „Investoren wollen nicht in erster Linie gleiche Ergebnisse, sondern verstehen, warum ein Rating gegebenenfalls anders ausfällt als bei einem anderen Anbieter“, sagt Jung.
