D.C.’s Advanced Technical Center is showing what’s possible when high schools and colleges join forces to prepare students for life after graduation. In its fourth year, the dual-enrollment program gives students the opportunity to earn college credits and industry-recognized credentials, helping them move directly into in-demand jobs. Joel Vargas, JFF’s vice president of education, told The Washington Post that D.C.’s model stands out because it connects coursework to meaningful credentials with labor market value.
