It's time to re-introduce... Leland+! Starting today, I'll be documenting the journey of this product to $1M ARR, in public. Two years ago, we quietly launched Leland+ as a small test. We used a third party tool to host content, didn't integrate anything, and waited to see what happened. The hypothesis was simple: Could we take the world-class expertise from our 1:1 coaches and make it accessible to everyone, no matter their background or budget? Although we wildly underinvested in the product experience, our hypothesis was clearly validated. And not only that, but we realized that while learning from experts in a scaled format was valuable, it was even more valuable that you could then reach out to those experts and meet with them 1:1 afterwards. Content gets you started. Coaching gets you the rest of the way. But that's not it. We realized that Leland+ could be our Amazon Prime. Not only include content, but be a premium experience on top of the entire product. So that's what we'll be doing. Today, we're launching Leland+ as a rich library of thousands of resources, courses, videos, templates, guides, and examples across 25+ categories like product management, career development, management consulting, MBA/Master's/Law admissions, investment banking, and more. But over the next several weeks, we'll be adding dozens of additional updates, benefits, perks, and value to Leland+. In a few years, I believe it will be as obvious of a subscription as Amazon Prime was. All ambitious people will have it. We’ve been testing Leland+ in beta over the past several weeks, rolling out improvements quickly, and getting incredible feedback. Today, it’s live for everyone. As part of the launch: 🎓 Students get their first month free, with a chance to earn a full year free if 250 people at their school sign up! (We'll be publishing the campus leaderboards regularly over the next few weeks) 🌎 Everyone else gets 50% off, which means it’s just $5/month if you select annual. This is another major step toward our mission of making the world’s expertise universally accessible. Leland+ is still in its early innings. What’s coming in the next several weeks will be even more transformational. Until then, take advantage of the most affordable price for Leland+ ever. I have no doubt you will love it. Access to the student deal and discount in comments.

We’ve recently accelerated our university club partnerships and are now working with student groups at schools like Northwestern, UCLA, Penn, NYU, Michigan, and dozens more. Clubs like GRC, AKPsi, Net Impact Berkeley, 180 Degrees Consulting, Society of Women Engineers, Association of Latino Professionals For America, and so many others are bringing ambitious students together around careers, leadership, and impact. At Leland, we’re helping them land competitive roles in consulting, tech, finance, and more, with access to exclusive perks, benefits, and resources. But we’re just getting started. Next week we’re launching a new product built around one simple idea: make world-class expertise accessible to everyone, no matter their background or budget. It’s one of the most ambitious bets we’ve made as a company and will be a massive step towards becoming the daily home for ambitious people. While Leland supports people at every stage of their career, college students will always be central to our mission. If you’re a student leader who wants access to exclusive Leland perks, we’d love to work with you (link in comments). Shout out to Dean for leading the charge! We'll be back on Monday with some exciting updates.

I had an MBA applicant who I worked with on Leland last year who told me she was only interesting in applying to one school: the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Needless to say, I was pretty nervous. Something about that Eminem song, you only got one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, yadda yadda. But we got to work, she gave it her all, I got the below text, and the rest is history: she's at Oxford today. The reason I do a lot of work on and believe in Leland is because I've seen first-hand the transformative impact that education and access to top graduate schools can have on your life. The fact of the matter is that there are brilliant and hard-working people across the globe, but access to good information on how you get into a top program like the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, The Wharton School, Harvard Business School, or Saïd Business School, University of Oxford isn't distributed fairly. But Leland is working to fix that. Over 50% of deferred MBA admits at GSB, HBS, Wharton, and other M7 schools last year used Leland in some capacity. That's like, pretty huge! And you can and will be one of those people. If you're applying to an MBA now or next year, take advantage of the collective wisdom of the crowd at Leland and sign up for an entirely free (!!!) MBA Application Sprint programming week from September 30-October 2. There are going to be 10+ virtual sessions that demystify every step of the application process, from application strategy to essays and more. Sessions will be hosted by former Admissions Committee members at top business schools like Stanford, Harvard, Wharton, and if you sign up soon you’ll unlock a special, exclusive session to meet current Admissions Directors from Chicago Booth, Michigan Ross, and more for insider insights. Someone I was talking to recently works in a research lab. When I asked them to walk me through their day, they said: “I just run mouse experiments.” But as we dug deeper, what came out was this: 🔹 They break down a complex problem into digestible chunks and then decide which hypotheses are worth testing (structured thinking) 🔹 They juggle resources - tools, people, time - to make it happen (project management) 🔹 They synthesize complex results into clear takeaways getting at the “so what” (structured thinking) 🔹 They keep their PIs and peers aligned along the way (stakeholder management) Sounds a lot like consulting or even product work, right? But the way we describe our work often hides the skills underneath. Next week, I’m co-hosting a session with James Havlicek on Leland. At the core, we're focusing on how to elevate the story of your work so people can actually see what you can bring to the table! https://lnkd.in/gG6W5j7Z

Leland | Ignite | GSB Deferred

I decided to apply for deferred MBA programs ~3 months before the application deadlines, but I wish I would've started sooner. Would I have been able to put together a stronger application with more time? Possibly. But that's not why. I wish I started earlier because the application process forced me to reflect on my life goals with more depth and specificity than ever before. Your college years uniquely position you to explore your passions, discover your purpose, and consider a million exciting options. Yet I didn't carve out time to do this until I started my deferred MBA applications. Now, I think back to the vision I outlined in my application every single day, and it keeps me centered and motivated. -- If you want to learn more about deferred MBAs, Leland is hosting a free panel with some of my favorite coaches on the platform, including: 🌟 Geri T. (Former HBS AdComm & 2+2 Program Founder) 🌟 Timothy F. (Chicago Booth) 🌟 Claire R. (Stanford GSB and the coach I used for my MBA applications)   Learn how to craft a great profile, write standout essays, secure strong recommendations, and avoid common mistakes in the deferred application process. This event is perfect for college juniors and seniors curious about a deferred MBA. RSVP now: https://lnkd.in/gpwADKsm

Anisa kept a running checklist on her phone: GRE drills, essay edits, interview prep. Every time she crossed one thing off, another two appeared. Still, she kept going. She grew up in Malaysia and built a career in marketing and regional strategy across Southeast Asia, moving between FMCG and fintech. She led multicultural teams, launched projects in new markets, and learned to solve problems with limited resources. But after a few years, Anisa wanted to see the bigger picture: not just how to market companies, but how they are run, bought, and grown. Her long-term goals took shape but first, she knew she needed an MBA. The hardest part was the volume. Test prep, essays, interviews — constant context switching and a heavy load while also working. What helped was structure. She joined the GRE bootcamp and worked with her coach Keta on Leland, tuned into free webinars, and leaned on communities that shared resources and kept her accountable. Then came the win she had been working toward. Anisa was admitted to Cambridge, her dream program. “This taught me that someone from an emerging market, without all the usual advantages, can still make it to a top school. Where you start doesn’t define where you can go.” Her advice for others? “Aim high. Hard work, persistence, and creative problem-solving can open doors you didn’t think existed.” #LelandCommunity

Every day, Christiana posted on LinkedIn. She shared the messy parts of job searching that no one wants to talk about, the rejections, and notes of support for others going through it too. In March 2025, she had been laid off and needed all the help she could get. LinkedIn became her lifeline. One of those posts reached Andrew on the Leland team, who messaged her and offered assistance. His insights and knowledge strengthened her resume in ways that stood out. “Although I received numerous rejections that were hard to hear, posting every day on LinkedIn helped break the stigma and shame and positively impacted others.” She stayed visible, she kept showing up. Then came the shift in her interviews. “There were days when I wanted to apply to anything and everything to feel productive. However, when I stayed focused on what I wanted, it was evident in my interviews — and in the end, it paid off.” That payoff: an offer from JP Morgan 🚀 Christiana’s advice for others is simple and earned: stay rooted in your why. When you lead with authenticity, the right door recognizes you. Congrats Christiana, we're cheering for you! #LelandCommunity

Seven months into the job search, Dominique decided something had to change. “I had been looking for a job for 7 months before I finally found Leland. As soon as I started working with my career coach, something shifted.” She wanted a marketing role she could be proud of. With her coach by her side, she went line by line through her resume until her story was clear. They ran mock interviews. She drilled in Excel, used ChatGPT to refine and practice answers, and little by little her mindset caught up with her skills. The confidence followed. Then the yes arrived: an offer from Summit Group. Looking back, Dominique reflected on what the process taught her. “This experience taught me that anything is possible. I believed I could do it, so I did. But I wouldn’t have gotten there without support.” For anyone in the middle of a long search, Dominique’s reminder is simple: believe in yourself, and do not be afraid to ask for help. You can do what you put your mind to — don’t let self-doubt stand in the way of your dreams. Congrats, Dominique! We’re rooting for you. #LelandCommunity
