JRM is proud to have completed extensive base building infrastructure upgrades for a historically significant, multi-building campus in New York City. This major MEP modernization included a full upgrade of heating, cooling, and electrical systems — from converting the original steam system to a new hydronic system with dual-fuel boilers, to replacing cooling equipment with air-cooled chillers and new campus-wide distribution. Electrical improvements also included replacing outdated switchgear with a new 3,000-amp system, along with complex utility coordination and the construction of a new sidewalk vault to support upgraded power feeds. All work was executed within the constraints of a landmarked site, requiring meticulous planning and preservation while delivering modern, reliable building performance for decades to come.
