October is Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month! From pregnancy scans to heart checks, ultrasound technology plays a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring health. By using high-frequency sound waves, ultrasound gives physicians detailed, real-time images of organs, tissues and blood flow—helping detect everything from heart conditions and stroke risk to liver, kidney and breast health concerns. Throughout Kaleida Health, our ultrasound and echocardiography teams provide noninvasive, lifesaving insights every day. 💙 This month, we celebrate these incredible teams and the essential role they play in patient care.

🎸 After 17 years living with Parkinson’s, Connie faced tremors so severe she couldn’t feed herself or play her beloved guitar. Earlier this year, she underwent deep brain stimulation using donor-supported ClearPoint Neuro technology at Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute — a procedure guided by real-time MRI, like a GPS for the brain. Today? Connie is back to walking, gardening, playing board games and strumming her guitar again! 🌿💛 Thank you to Assaf Berger, MD, the care incredible team and generous donors who made this possible. 💙 Watch Connie's full story here: https://lnkd.in/gz8zYX4J
