We're proud to share that Suresh Balasubramanian, M.D., member of the Hematology Oncology Multidisciplinary Team and the Multiple Myeloma and Amyloidosis Program at Karmanos, contributed as an investigator and co-author in the study, Ziftomenib in Relapsed or Refractory NPM1-Mutated AML, recently published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. This Phase II KOMET-001 trial evaluated the menin inhibitor ziftomenib in adults with NPM1-Mutated Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) that had relapsed or not responded to prior therapies. Findings highlight the growing promise ziftomenib as a targeted therapeutic strategy for treating NPM1-Mutated AML. We're proud of Dr. Balasubramanian's contribution to advancing precision oncology and improving outcomes for patients with challenging hematologic malignanicies. October is liver cancer awareness month, emphasizing the need to recognize and support the over 41,000 individuals diagnosed with liver cancer each year in the US. More than half of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of liver cancer, are diagnosed at advanced stages, leading to a five-year survival rate of only 7%.
