I do my best to act as a true coach, giving people honest guidance from both a personal and professional perspective. As I’ve been introducing myself to new clients in the Phoenix market, I’ve also been reflecting on my career to date — many years of recruiting, business development, and everything in between. This industry has taught me so much about people, resilience, and the power of relationships. 10 things I’ve learned along the way 💭 1. Relationships > transactions. At the end of the day, this business is all about people — not placements. My best wins have always come from genuine connections. 2. Listening goes further than selling. Don’t stress about the perfect pitch. Listening and asking the right questions is what sets you apart. 3. Resilience is everything. Staffing is a rollercoaster, no doubt. The key is learning to ride the wave — and staying grounded through it all. 4. Speed matters, but alignment matters more. Filling a role quickly is great, but only if you’ve found the right fit for both sides. 5. Be transparent — even when it’s uncomfortable. Honest feedback, when delivered appropriately, is how you build real trust with both clients and candidates. 6. Your name follows you. The way you treat people is how they’ll remember you. Be kind — it always comes back around. 7. Adaptability keeps you in the game. Hiring trends, client needs, and priorities are constantly shifting. Stay curious and flexible. 8. Relationship building isn't a task — it's a mindset. Thoughtful outreach — even when there’s no immediate business — shows that you care. It’s often the difference between being remembered or forgotten. 9. Partnerships take time. Great relationships aren’t built overnight — they’re earned through consistency, transparency, and success. 10. Growth and comfort never co-exist. The difference between being average and becoming the best is allowing yourself to be uncomfortable. 💫
