Last Friday, Kettering Health, Premier Health Partners, Dayton Children's Hospital, Kettering College, University of Dayton, Sinclair Community College, and Wright State University held a launch ceremony to celebrate the start of a new collaborative mental health program for college students. The College Age Intensive Outpatient Program (CA IOP) will take a community partnership-based approach to addressing the growing mental health crisis among traditional college students. Leaders from each organization offered remarks at the event, speaking to the positive impact the program will have on students experiencing mental health challenges. A collaborative effort of this scale, bringing together the area's leading health systems and academic institutions, is a powerful testament to each organization's dedication to helping college students in our region thrive. We are grateful to each of our partners as we come together to drive change in our communities! The program will begin accepting patients on October 20. Visit the link in the comments to learn more!

Last month, we hosted our third annual Farm Safety Day at the Jamestown Health Center! Led by our Kettering Health Rural Health Family Medicine Residency team, students from the University of Cincinnati, The Ohio State University, and Wright State University participated in a training event to educate them about farm safety and rural health hazards. "This event provides us with a great opportunity to raise awareness of the unique challenges and needs our patients in these underserved rural areas face," said Dr. James Halderman, Associate Program Director and Rural Pathway Director of Soin Family Medicine Residency.

We kicked off Nuclear Medicine Week with something truly special — the installation of a brand new PET/CT scanner! Every patient we serve is supported by an incredible team of caring, highly skilled professionals. From the first scheduling call to the technologists and nurses who guide each step, to the nuclear medicine physicians, radiopharmacists, chemists, and physicists behind the scenes — every person plays a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the care and answers they need throughout their journey. To celebrate this milestone, our team came together to sign the floor beneath the new PET/CT, leaving our names as a symbol of the dedication and teamwork that power every scan and every patient story. Here’s to advancing care and honoring the people who make it possible — happy Nuclear Medicine Week! #nuclearmedicineweek #ketteringhealth

This year’s Hand Day is coming up on October 5! The annual event provides free hand surgeries and follow-up care to uninsured Dayton-area residents suffering from hand and wrist ailments such as carpal tunnel, numbness, stiffness, and cysts. We asked the Hand Day surgeons why they feel this is such an important event and what they look forward to each year. Swipe to see what they shared! Hand Day is done in partnership with The Kettering Health Hand Center of Excellence, Orthopedic Associates of SW Ohio (OASWO), TeamHealth, and The American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s humanitarian mission, Touching Hands (ASSH).
