An impressive array of speakers yesterday at the OBN (UK) Ltd #BioTuesday event hosted by FTI Consulting on "The latest R&D in the Metabolic Disease and Obesity Space!" 🎇 This was one of my favourite evenings with truly insightful takeaways from each presentation on the use of GLP-1 therapeutics alongside other therapies, medical device interventions and more.. 😷 🤗 Matthew Coghlan from Eli Lilly and Company shared his overview of advancements in Incretin Portfolio Science. Keen to hear more about the mechanisms of action in a less sensored presentation as it's all very hush hush from the big players! I'm sure I wasn't the only memeber left rather curious for more! 😄 Thank you to Sarah Le Brocq, from Reset Health and founder of All About Obesity CIC, who shared a unique and insightful presentation on public health strategies and is filling gaps in virtual health planning - Sarah highlighted the importance of awareness and change in obesity management from her personal lived perspective which was a great added personal anecdote to the evening. 👩⚕️ 📱 Adrien Lemoine of Bloomsbury Genetic Therapies introduced us to his approach to addressing gaps in therapeutics for OTCD diseases. Great promise for future interventions! 🤩 💊 Ryan Lafferty from Dia Beta Labs Ltd discussed pioneeing metabolic health solutions with promising clinical data in preliminary animal studies with his therapeutic interventions. We have just completed a highly successful preclinical study for our ForePass® Endoscopic Bypass System, and the results are truly groundbreaking: 🌟 Remarkable Safety and Tolerability: Our device demonstrated outstanding safety and tolerability in large animal models, setting a solid foundation for our upcoming human trials. 🌟 Exceptional Efficacy: The animals exhibited minimal weight gain of just 6 kg over 4 weeks, with a very low standard deviation.
