The internet has been abuzz with chat about a new South African AI platform - KAIIA, fine-tuned to Mzanzi culture, speaks 11 languages, trained for local nuance. After social media leaks and a tech spec video caused a stir last week, tech influencers who unearthed a link to KAIIA started reporting that the AI seemed to mention chicken randomly whenever they interacted with her. Bongani Moropa, known as Bonghuni posted about KAIIA’s fluency in Zulu, remarking on her odd obsession with food. Tech influencer Tyron Tech posted “This could be game changing for RSA”. Well, it’s time to break the news! We’re SO EXCITED to announce #KAIIA as the star of our brand-new Taste campaign and we could not be prouder to unleash her into the world. KFC Africa Chief Marketing Officer Grant Macpherson Macpherson says the brand loves pushing boundaries and surprising consumers with its campaigns showing the lengths people (and now an AI) will go to for the taste of KFC. “The unofficial taste inspector campaign is one everyone remembers, and last year we featured scientists spending a year on Marion Island and pining so hard that two of them set off home in a dinghy clutching a KFC shopping list,” he says. “This time around, we wanted to tap into the conversations people are having every day—AI, or as I like to call it, ‘Are the robots taking over?’ The advances in AI are on everyone’s lips, so we thought—why not put it on everyone’s taste buds too? 💗 We love seeing people all over the world enjoy our finger lickin’ good chicken – but watching superfan Mr. Choudhary celebrate his 101st birthday with KFC is something truly special.
When Mr. Choudhary’s family wrote to us about his 101st birthday, they mentioned just one thing—his unwavering love for KFC over the years. That was all we needed. 🫶 From a custom bucket cake to his favorite Zinger(or patties, as he calls it) & strips, from goodies and merch to decorating his home with everything Finger Lickin’—we brought the party to him, right where his heart is. His family gathered at his home to celebrate, and the room was filled with warmth, laughter, and a whole lot of chicken. We got to know how even the grandkids express their love by surprising him with his favorite KFC meals every now and then. Watching him beam with joy reminded us what we’re really here for—not just food, not just birthdays, but memories that stay with you long after the last bite. Happy 101st, Mr. Choudhary. 🎙️All4Customer Paris : ce qu’on retient de notre intervention sur “les marques du futur” 🎙️ Cette semaine, notre Directeur Marketing Pierre Cailleau est intervenu au salon All4Customer Paris pour partager comment KFC France s’adapte à un consommateur en constante mutation — en particulier la Gen Z, cette génération qui ne laisse rien passer. Voici 3 enseignements clés à retenir de cette table ronde 👇 1. Ne pas chercher à plaire à la Gen Z. Entrer dans leur culture. ⚡️ → On ne vend pas uniquement un produit, on s’intègre à une conversation. Avec des activations comme #MisterV, le #BFFBurger ou notre rebond malicieux sur L’île de la Tentation, on parle leur langue, avec leurs codes. 2. L’agilité, c’est une posture. 💪 → Être réactif, c’est avant tout être préparé. Chez KFC, chaque activation repose sur une synergie entre nos équipes, nos agences et nos partenaires. De l’idée à l’exécution, notre exigence reste la même : aller vite mais surtout le faire bien, avec cohérence, justesse et impact. 3. L’audace vient de l’ADN, pas du hasard. 🔥 → On peut être iconique et disruptif à la fois. Notre force, c’est de savoir d’où l’on vient — un savoir-faire historique, une culture food affirmée — pour mieux oser. Chaque campagne assume notre ton, notre identité, et notre manière unique de raconter des histoires. Aujourd’hui, il ne suffit plus de communiquer pour inspirer une nouvelle génération. Les marques doivent libérer une audace créative capable de réveiller un marché saturé, créer une résonance culturelle authentique et activer une transformation holistique qui se traduit par une exécution juste, cohérente et percutante, à 360°.
