Happy Alaska Day! On October 18, 1867, the U.S. formally acquired Alaska from Russia in a ceremony in Sitka, raising the American flag over the territory for the first time. Each year, Alaska Day commemorates this important moment in history and honors the state’s unique heritage, culture, and natural beauty. From its breathtaking landscapes to its resilient communities, Alaska continues to play a vital role in shaping the nation’s story. Today, we celebrate the spirit of Alaska and all who call it home. #AlaskaDay

The KGS team had an amazing time connecting with students, professionals, and fellow organizations who share our passion for innovation, community, and opportunity. As an Alaska Native Corporation, we’re proud to support events like AISES that empower Indigenous excellence in STEM and provide a space for meaningful connection, learning, and growth. Throughout the conference, we had the chance to meet so many talented individuals at the College & Career Fair – thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about KGS, our mission, and the many ways to grow your career with us. We’re grateful for the conversations, the inspiration, and the sense of community that make AISES such a special experience every year. Until next time! Koniag extends our deepest condolences to all who have been affected by the devastating storm in Western Alaska. Dozens of homes have been destroyed, forty-nine communities have reported impacts, and over 1,000 survivors have been displaced. Our hearts are with families mourning the loss of life and those who are still searching for missing loved ones. https://lnkd.in/g5U3WJaV

Honoring 250 Years of the United States Navy! On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress established the Continental Navy with just two ships, marking the beginning of what would become the world’s most powerful naval force. Since then, the U.S. Navy has grown and evolved, protecting our nation’s security, advancing maritime freedom, and standing ready around the globe. Today, we celebrate the Navy’s 250th Birthday and pay tribute to the generations of Sailors who have served with honor, courage, and commitment. From its earliest days during the American Revolution to its role in today’s global missions, the Navy has been a cornerstone of our nation’s strength and resilience. To all those who wear the uniform, have served in the past, and to the families who support them – thank you for your sacrifice and service. Happy Birthday, U.S. Navy! #USNavy #NavyBirthday

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 Today, we celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and lasting contributions of Indigenous peoples across the United States, while reflecting on our own roots and commitment to giving back. As an Alaska Native Corporation, KGS is deeply committed to honoring our Alutiiq community members—today and every day. We were proud to join the Koniag family of companies this July, where 70+ volunteers came together in Kodiak to serve our elders through home repairs, preparing banya baskets, and strengthening the bonds that connect us all. In everything we do, we strive to uplift and carry forward the Alutiiq values of respect, community, and care. Today and always, we stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples everywhere, celebrating their resilience and honoring their culture and ancestral wisdom. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #Alutiiq #AlaskaNative #CommunityFirst #KoniagFamily #ANC #Service #Respect
This July, more than seventy volunteers came together for a meaningful day of service for our Elders. The volunteer teams — made up of leaders and staff from Koniag, Koniag Government Services, Koniag Capital, and Koniag Energy and Water — spent the day helping with chores and light repairs in nearly twenty Elders’ homes in Kodiak. In addition, volunteers prepared hundreds of banya baskets that will be delivered to Elders in villages across our region. This project was made possible by Kodiak Area Native Association. We are also grateful to every volunteer whose time, energy, and heart made this event a success.
