  • #KRCL was honored to sponsor the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and Dallas Hispanic Bar Foundation’s 20th Platinum Anniversary Noche de Luz Gala, celebrating two decades of advancing diversity, equity, and opportunity in the legal profession. This milestone evening at The Joule Hotel not only marked twenty years of impact, but also reminded us why this mission matters. Gala keynote, civil rights pioneer and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Sylvia Mendez shared a story that continues to shape our profession - a powerful reminder that the pursuit of justice begins with courage and community. We extend our congratulations to Rudy Rodriguez, General Counsel of Dave & Buster's, and the recipient of this year's La Luz Award, as well as all of the remarkable honorees. Thank you to the #DHBA and #DHBF for your tireless work empowering the next generation of Hispanic lawyers through leadership programs, scholarships, and judicial externships. Special recognition goes to our own Mike Logan for helping make KRCL’s sponsorship possible and ensuring that we continue to support organizations that strengthen both our profession and our community. ✨ 20th Platinum Anniversary Noche de Luz Gala ✨ On September 27, 2025, the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association and the Dallas Hispanic Bar Foundation proudly celebrated a historic milestone: the 20th Platinum Anniversary Noche de Luz Gala at The Joule Hotel Dallas. We were deeply honored to welcome civil rights activist and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Sylvia Mendez as our keynote speaker. A true civil rights trailblazer, Sylvia’s family’s landmark case, Mendez v. Westminster, helped pave the way for Brown v. Board of Education and forever changed the course of history in this country. Traveling from California to be with us, Sylvia shared her extraordinary story of courage, resilience, and justice. Her words moved us, reminded us of how far we have come, and inspired us to continue the work still left to do. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Sylvia, for honoring us with your presence and for entrusting us with your story on this special milestone celebration. The evening also celebrated outstanding leaders in our community with the presentation of our Noche de Luz Awards: 🏆 Rudy Rodriguez  – La Luz Award
🏆 Clarissa Benavides JD AIGP CIPP CIPM FIP CCEP – Corporate Counsel Diversity Award
🏆 Kimberly Cruz – Estrella Award
🏆 Juan Antonio Solis – Volunteer of the Year
🏆 Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP – Law Firm Excellence Award
🏆 The Honorable Nicole Muñoz Huschka – President’s Award Despite the challenges facing organizations like ours this year, together we raised over $130,000, the second-highest amount in the event’s 20-year history. These funds will continue to support impactful initiatives, including the Irma C. Ramirez Leadership Program, the judicial externship program, and scholarships for law students at each of our area law schools.

  • #KRCL is once again proud to sponsor the TPS Thayer Annual Charity Golf Tournament, returning for its 11th year. Led by Energy, Oil, & Gas Practice Co-Chair Demetri Economou, our firm has supported this event for years – because the causes it fuels are just too important to miss. This year, the tournament benefits two incredible organizations: Reining Strength Therapeutic Horsemanship, helping individuals unlock their potential through equine-assisted services, and Tejas Cookers Foundation, providing scholarships for hardworking students to pursue their dreams in education, culinary arts, sports, and more. As Demetri says: “Supporting this tournament year after year is an honor, because we’ve seen firsthand the difference it makes in our community. We applaud John Thayer and his firm for their commitment to these worthy charities." • #KRCL congratulates Robert LeMay, Drew Robertson, Richard Hathaway, Brian Hail, Tiffany Kahler, and the litigation support team - legal secretary Teresa Rowe and paralegals Alana Guyger and Connie Nims - for their recent courtroom victory on behalf of Champion Motor Sports Group, LLC, doing business as Coleman Powersports. After an eight-day trial stemming from a commercial dispute over Golf Cart distribution with SC Autosports LLC, doing business as Kandi America, a Dallas jury returned a $30 million verdict in favor of Coleman, finding that SC Autosports had breached a non-circumvention agreement prohibiting golf cart sales to Coleman’s customer Lowe’s. Robert, who led the trial team, told Texas Lawyer that “common sense won over the jury” - and the unanimous verdict proved it. Jurors awarded damages for breach of the non-circumvention agreement, delivery of golf carts that were non-conforming with Coleman’s purchase orders and intentional interference with Coleman’s contract with Lowe’s. Additionally, the Jury awarded punitive damages for malicious conduct in the interference with Coleman’s contract with Lowe’s. The case, also featured in The Texas Lawbook, underscores KRCL’s strength in high-stakes commercial litigation and the team’s ability to cut through complexity with clarity, credibility, and precision.
