⛰️ Did you know we literally climb mountains to keep public media alive? KSPS PBS Interim General Manager Skyler Reep joined our engineering team for preventive maintenance on one of our transmission towers, perched 6,150 feet above Sandpoint, Idaho, on top of Bald Mountain. 📡 This single site broadcasts our four channels across the region, and it’s one of 30 transmission sites our engineers maintain year-round. The pickup got them partway up the mountain, but they had to switch to a side-by-side ATV for the rest of the climb. In winter, that means snowmobiles and tracked vehicles. These towers don’t just deliver Masterpiece and Nature. They carry the emergency alert infrastructure that keeps our communities informed and safe. Every bolt tightened, every wire checked, helps ensure the signal reaches homes from the Palouse to the Canadian Rockies. ✨ KSPS PBS: Connecting, enriching, and inspiring the Inland Northwest, one mountain at a time.
