The inaugural BILH Robotic and Digital Surgery Symposium was a tremendous success! With outstanding attendance from stakeholders across the BILH system and key industry partners, the energy, engagement, and collaborative spirit were truly inspiring. Together, we began defining the BILH Digital Surgery mission and strategy, setting the stage for a bold future in robotic and digital innovation. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, your leadership, insights, and enthusiasm will drive the next chapter of surgical care at BILH. We’re proud to announce that Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC) has been recognized as a Star Performer in the 2025–2026 Own the Bone annual recognition cycle! This national distinction is awarded only to institutions that achieve 75% compliance on at least 5 of 10 fracture prevention measures, and LHMC went above and beyond by meeting 10 out of 10 measures! This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence in secondary fracture prevention and long-term bone health for our patients. Congratulations to our dedicated teams for setting the bar in quality improvement and patient-centered care.

Big News in Nutrition Advocacy! We're thrilled to share that Sara O’Brien, MS, RD-AP, LDN, CNSC, one of our dietitians, successfully lobbied to have Malnutrition Awareness Week officially recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts! Thanks to her advocacy, the proclamation was signed by: Gov. Maura T. Healey Lt. Gov. Kimberly Driscoll Secretary William Francis Galvin Sara works at Lahey Hospital as a Registered Dietitian in Advanced Practice, where she brings both clinical expertise and a deep passion for public health. Her dedication to raising awareness about malnutrition is a shining example of how RDs are making a real difference, not just in healthcare settings, but at the state level.

Kudos to Chef Derek Trube and Cook Shelley Shoesmith for participating in the Plant-Based Cooking Competition at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center! The theme, “A Spin on New England – Plant-Based,” celebrated culinary creativity and wellness through inspired, plant-forward dishes. Derek, Shelley, and our team will begin introducing these dishes for both our patients and in our retail café this autumn. 🍂🍽️
