Every young person has the potential to thrive, and we’re here to support them every step of the way. 🌱 Thanks to a generous grant from the Delta Dental Ins. Community Care Foundation, we’re expanding counseling, wellness activities, and innovative therapies that help youth build confidence, resilience, and the skills to succeed. We’re so grateful for this support, which allows more young people to access affirming care and opportunities to grow, heal, and flourish. 💬 “I’m proud to be Chapín in the United States, and to showcase the efforts and sacrifices of my family which provided new opportunities for me and my siblings. Their example inspires me to give back to my community—to support our families and help the next generation feel that they belong here in the United States and can thrive.” As we close Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month, we celebrate Pedro Raymundo (he/him/él), Employment Success Program Manager at Larkin Street Academy. Guided by his Mayan roots and family legacy, Pedro creates opportunities, highlights youth strengths, and helps them embrace their identities and thrive. This month reminds us that every story, every culture, and every act of care makes our community stronger—and together, we can help the next generation reach their full potential. ✨ #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinxHeritageMonth #LarkinStreetPride #LarkinStreetYouth

On Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor the resilience, culture, and contributions of Indigenous communities. Their strength, wisdom, and deep connection to community inspire our work at Larkin Street, where we help young people find safety, stability, and opportunity—helping every youth step into their full potential. We acknowledge that we live and work on the unceded ancestral lands of the Ramaytush Ohlone peoples, whose stewardship of this land continues to shape and inspire our mission every day.

💬 “I chose a life of service because my heritage taught me to extend a helping hand. Over the past decade, we’ve made measurable progress in reducing youth homelessness. Thousands of young people have found housing, stability, and opportunity—and more youth than ever are being supported before they fall into chronic homelessness. Last week, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) signaled its plan to cut two-thirds of its permanent housing budget. These cuts would have devastating impacts on thousands of young people across the country, including in the Bay Area, where programs at Larkin Street help keep young people safely housed each night. We need more—not less—housing for young people at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. We simply cannot tolerate our most vulnerable youth falling back into homelessness or being denied the chance to have a stable home. We are committed to standing with every young person who needs a home. Together with our supporters and community partners, we can protect the progress we’ve made and give youth the chance to thrive. At Larkin Street Youth Services, we stand with youth every step of the way.

Yvette brings her Mexican roots and dedication into everything she does, highlighting the importance of culture, heritage, and possibility for the next generation. #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinxHeritageMonth #LarkinStreetPride
