I had such a great time soaking up inspiration at ADWEEK’s Social Media Week! It’s a real privilege to have access to such sharp thinkers, creative leaders, and future-focused conversations right here in NYC. A few standout takeaways that really stuck with me:
🎬 “The creators themselves are in control of what they’re doing, and it feels authentic. And that’s what people are really responding to, as opposed to a talent being given a script and presenting.”
— Amelia Dimoldenberg, host of the viral series Chicken Shop Date, on why unscripted, creator-driven content is resonating more than ever. The shift to authenticity isn’t coming… it’s here!
🎾 “You still have this need for verifiably human activity.”
— Alexis Ohanian Sr., co-founder of Reddit and founder of Seven Seven Six 7️⃣7️⃣6️⃣, explained why sports and live event content will continue to thrive in the age of AI. There’s always a new match, a new moment, and a new reason to tune in. (If you know me, you know I’m always watching sports content, so this really hit!)
📈 “47% of brands surveyed reported that their influencer marketing budgets increased by at least 11% in 2025.”
— Kwame Appiah, Head of Influencer at Later (and Love is Blind alum!), kicked things off with a fun, interactive session on creator culture and social trends. His big message? Influencer marketing is scaling up. Brands are doubling down on creators who bring both reach and realness, proving that trust and relatability are what really convert.
🎣 “I kinda just do what I want to do in the moment... I go where the fish are.”
— Bethenny Frankel, reality TV queen and founder of Skinnygirl Cocktails, on the value of experimentation. Sometimes you’ve just gotta post the thing, try the idea, test the voice. It’s less about overthinking and more about over-trying. Throw it at the wall and see what sticks!
Big thank you to Abby Berman Cohen for putting this event on my radar! I walked away with fresh ideas and a full camera roll of slides I’m definitely revisiting.
